About the Role
In this opportunity as Director, Product Management - SurePrep, you will contribute to that mission by being responsible for delivering a customer-back, inspirational vision, strategy, multi-year discovery and delivery roadmaps, and ongoing end-to-end product lifecycle management for TaxCaddy, 1040SCAN, and SPbinder. In partnership with leadership, engineering, design, product marketing, sales, and other product leaders and teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and expand an inclusive team of high-performing product managers dedicated to customer empathy, continuous AI-enhanced learning and experimentation, and the iterative release and delivery of value.

  • Drive the product vision and strategy by developing a profound understanding of customer insights, staying at the forefront of market and technology trends, and identifying lucrative business opportunities with a special emphasis on leveraging AI to set new market benchmarks.

  • Define the Product Discovery and Product Delivery roadmaps, ensuring they are in alignment with our AI integration strategy and market leadership objectives.

  • Empower teams to effectively utilize AI tools within their Learning Plans and ensure agile delivery of customer value.

  • Enable revenue growth across customer sub-segments by creating innovative solutions and delivering high-quality, impactful products and services.

  • Support customer sub-segment and go-to-market teams with product launches and ongoing sales efforts, including customer visits and various customer engagement activities.

  • Contribute to the expansion of the global Thomson Reuters Product Management community and aid in the transformation of Thomson Reuters from a "holding company" to an "operating company," fostering shared capabilities and connections across the product portfolio.


Key Activities:

  • Oversee the entire product lifecycle, from ideation to execution, ensuring exceptional customer experiences and measurable business outcomes for the SurePrep product line.

  • Strategically steer the long-term direction of the SurePrep product line, crafting a roadmap that deeply resonates with customer needs, leverages AI for competitive differentiation and aligns with overarching ATP and TR business goals.

  • Clearly define and communicate the problem, opportunity, and envisioned AI-powered solution to customers, cross-functional teams, and internal stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with fellow product leaders to manage, streamline, and optimize the integration with other TR products across the ATPA product portfolio including using advanced AI-powered tooling and capabilities.

  • Develops and leads a best-in-class team of product managers in the successful execution of the strategic roadmap.

  • Develops strong cross-functional relationships (with technology, customer experience design, marketing, sales, etc.) to deliver high-value, innovative experiences to TR customers.

  • Drives strategic projects outside their specific area of product ownership that will help shape long-term business strategy.


Key Deliverables:

  • Define, monitor, and drive the execution of product and business plans that exceed performance benchmarks for the SurePrep product line, leveraging AI insights to optimize product, revenue, cost efficiency, and growth.

  • Product roadmap - outline the path towards achieving vision and growth objectives including revenue, profit, market share, and return on investment for all business channels and key customers, in the short and long term.

  • Define Product Discovery and Delivery roadmaps with a relentless focus on strategic alignment, data-driven decision-making, customer insights, and business imperatives to deliver the most impactful and high-quality solutions to our customers.

  • Ensure the delivery of superior-quality, high-value products, experiences, and services in collaboration with technology and content teams, emphasizing continuous enhancement within the agile development framework.

  • Develop a customer experience strategy that confidently transitions users from legacy software to TR's AI-powered cloud-based solutions, ensuring a smooth and trust-building changeover.

  • Collaborate with sub-segments and marketing teams to communicate the value proposition of new products and enhancements, ensuring alignment with customer needs and market demands.


Qualifications
You're a fit for the role of Director, Product Management - SurePrep if your background includes:

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in technology Product Management or a similar customer-facing role with a track record of successful product delivery.

  • Demonstrated leadership in building and managing high-performance product management teams, with experience in both direct management and cross-functional team collaboration.

  • Strong strategic vision with a proven ability to develop product strategies, set clear directions, and facilitate change that yields measurable short- and long-term achievements.

  • Expertise in articulating comprehensive product requirements and driving effective iterative development and testing to ensure high-quality software outcomes.

  • Exceptional prioritization skills, with a focus on delivering customer value and incorporating stakeholder feedback into product decisions.

  • Excellent collaborative and influence skills, with the ability to work effectively across all organizational levels and functions, particularly with marketing and technology teams.

  • Experience in guiding teams through experimentation and data-driven decision-making to refine products and processes.

  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a willingness to innovate, take calculated risks, and adapt to changing market and organizational needs.

  • High levels of energy and collaboration, strong time management skills, and a results-driven approach to work.

  • Experience with launching and scaling cloud-based (SaaS) solutions, especially in B2B environments. Experience with tax, financial, or enterprise products is highly desirable.

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field; an advanced degree such as an MBA is a plus.

  • Familiarity with product management tools such as JIRA and proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint for effective communication and collaboration.
