Are you passionate about health equity in digital transformation and understanding the experiences of end-users (i.e., patients and their caregivers)? The Division of Computational Health Sciences, at the Department of Surgery, has a unique opportunity for an independent, self-motivated graduate student contributor to work with Dr. Rubina Rizvi on research projects to understand, explore, and test new strategies to enhance patient portal adoption and engagement among chronic disease patients These projects seek to better understand the complex relationship among the factors impacting patient portal (MyChart) use, coming from different perspectives, and identifying how those factors could influence its usage, in order get a more holistic understanding of current patient portal usage including the facilitators and barriers.

Job Duties:
* Project management tasks.
* Support project proposal process.
* Submit IRB documents as needed.
* Conduct literature reviews.
* Data management, statistical analysis, manuscript/abstract preparation.
* Secondary data analysis (quantitively).
* Primary data collection/analysis (qualitatively and quantitively).
* Attend weekly check-in meetings with Dr. Rizvi and project team members.

Qualifications

All required qualifications must be documented on application materials

Required Qualifications:
* A graduate, MD student, or a Ph.D student pursuing a degree in the health sciences area
* Demonstrated strong communication, written, interpersonal, organizational, analytical and data management skills.
* Ability to manage work amidst changing priorities and ambiguous environments.
* Ability to work independently, make decisions, and problem-solving among multiple research projects, each with a different set of team members and leadership.
* Demonstrated ability to analyze, design, and optimize complex processes.
* Familiarity with health research and healthcare delivery.
* Proficient with various technology applications including MS Office (Word, Excel & PowerPoint), Internet applications, data entry, email, calendaring, database software.
* Proficient in Redcap.
* Familiarity with IRB processes.
* Have qualitative data analysis skills, preferably using Nvivo or Dedoose.
