As a Reagent Operations Scientist, you will be part of an industry-leading organization helping patients obtain on-time and reliable diagnostics. You will collaborate cross functionally to support production by evaluating product/production process, and operator safety related issues that contribute to the achievement of production goals. As part of this dynamic team, your main responsibility will be overall scientific support for reagent production while operating in a regulated environment.

The Opportunity

  • Production: You contribute your scientific expertise to support reagent manufacturing with respect to raw materials, formulations, and testing to allow high quality diagnostic products to ship on time. This includes supporting issue identification, scoping and troubleshooting of production related issues.

  • You collaborate with others to analyze data, evaluate results, form conclusions and develop resolution plans using a wide variety of scientific principles and concepts.

  • Quality and Safety, Compliance: You accurately document investigations and other Quality Records to maintain compliance and Roche's "Right to operate". This includes contributing to manufacturing product and process information to support Global Regulatory compliance standards and maintaining employee safety.

  • Continuous Improvement: You leverage investigational data to identify and suggest product/process/safety improvement opportunities and/or cost savings.

  • Teamwork and Collaboration: You proactively collaborate with peers in other shifts/functions. This includes supporting other functions to drive value stream, lean manufacturing improvement and global projects/ initiatives. You participate in tier and staff meetings.

Who You Are

  • You have a Bachelor's degree with 5 years of relevant experience in production, manufacturing, supply chain or a related field.

Preferred

  • You have a Master of Science or PhD with 2+ years of experience.

  • You are knowledgeable of Quality Management Systems (ie: ETQ, SAP, Minitab)

  • You have an understanding of Lean methodology

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • You have experience collaborating and supporting root cause analysis by using established investigational techniques and data analysis tools.

  • You have experience supporting the investigation scope and corrective actions appropriate for the situation. This includes collection, analysis and presentation of data at an appropriate level of detail applicable to the situation.

  • You have the ability to learn system-level thinking to apply broad scientific knowledge to multi-disciplinary projects.

  • You have advanced technical writing skills to produce reports and documents.

You are local to Tucson, Arizona.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Tucson is $62,300 to $115,700. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
