Program/Unit Description: The Department of Surgery at the University of Minnesota Medical School is dedicated to clinical excellence, pioneering research, and the education of surgical leaders. The Tignanelli lab (within the Department of Surgery) focuses on the development of biomedical artificial intelligence and machine learning tools that can improve the quality and efficiency of clinical care. The lab is seeking a summer computer scientist intern to support two biomedical AI projects within the discipline of biomedical computer vision. Work requirements would primarily include (1) data pre-processing and supporting data analysis and (2) generation of reports and manuscripts related to the work conducted. Additionally, it is anticipated that this position will present at least one manuscript at a national conference at the end of the summer/fall of 2024.
Duties/Responsibilities:
The start date for this position is June 3rd, 2024 and will conclude on August 30th, 2024. This is a fully remote position
