St. James Hotel, a renowned establishment committed to delivering exceptional guest experiences, is seeking a Banquet Assistant Manager to join our team. Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the Banquet Department, ensuring adherence to policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Coordinate banquet activities to achieve exceptional guest satisfaction and uphold 4 Diamond quality standards in food and service.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the service staff, including task assignments, coaching, and performance management.
  • Foster positive relationships with guests to enhance retention, promote loyalty, and address any concerns or complaints promptly.
  • Conduct frequent inspections of event spaces to ensure proper setup and presentation.
  • Maintain a high level of staff effectiveness through communication, training, and development initiatives.
  • Implement event billing procedures, monitor inventory, and adhere to budgetary constraints to achieve financial objectives.
Qualifications

Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school preferred and a minimum of two years of related experience in a premier banquet and conference facility, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Qualified candidates will have demonstrated ability to create visually appealing food presentations and maintain attention to detail; Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with guests, employees, and management; Previous supervisory experience is required; Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet navigation, Point of Sale, Inventory Management, and Sales & Catering systems; Strong analytical thinking skills and the ability to solve problems effectively; Customer service orientation with a genuine desire to exceed guest expectations; Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

This is a full-time position with a guaranteed minimum of 45 hours per week. However, this role can expect to work a minimum of 50 hours per week to ensure the responsibilities of the role are completed.
