Job Description

Join our team! Egan Company is seeking candidates for an Account Manager role within our Building Automation group, working from our Champlin location! In this role you'll be responsible for expanding the building automation/temperature business in the Automation, Technology and Service Group. The successful candidate will provide unique and forward-thinking solutions utilizing analytics, technology, and an intelligent building framework for energy-efficient and occupant-focused systems.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the Account Manager include but are not limited to the following:

  • Establish relationships with end users, key contractors, and engineers through leads, cold calling and networking.

  • Achieve annual revenue and gross margin goals.

  • Accurately estimate building automation control solutions per plans/specification requirements and owner-direct opportunities.

  • Write scope proposals based on estimates.

  • Communicate regularly with customers and Project Managers on projects regarding job concerns, technical matters, and other issues.

  • Advise Service group/Sales of additional sales potential and assist with promoting service planned maintenance agreements prior to job closeout.

  • Sell as a team with other Sales Account Managers and Engineers as appropriate.

  • Track sales activities and forecast sales opportunities in CRM.

  • Visits jobsites and customer sites regularly

  • All other duties as assigned.

Requirements
  • Required: Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred and four years of experience OR five to ten years of strong, relevant experience within:

    • Building Automation and Control Systems

    • Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning Systems (HVAC)

    • Energy Management

    • Engineering Applications

    • Installation Procedures

  • Proficient in the use of standard office computer programs such as Microsoft Office and Google Suite.

  • Previous experience utilizing CRM software.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships.

  • Organizational skills and ability to juggle competing customer needs.

  • Strong negotiation skills.

  • Ability to present to both internal and external groups.

  • Working knowledge of current estimating processes and procedures.

  • Ability to learn and promote other areas of the business.

  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.

Working Conditions
  • Performance of duties will be in the office, home, customer sites, and job sites as needed.

  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time.

  • Exposure to loud noise, dirt, and exposure to the elements.

  • Climbing ladders/stairs, uneven ground, bending, kneeling, and twisting are to be expected on job sites.
