The Resource, Acquisition, and Management (RAM) team is based in RAI-HQ with the mandate to support RAI-US grants, development, and volunteer management staff. The Development Operations Officer is the focal point for private resource development operations in RAI and will directly supervise the RAM Development Data Management & Improvement Intern, a newly created unpaid internship opportunity to expand capacity. This internship will be integral to monitoring internal resource development and volunteer management data, providing data entry and troubleshooting support, and supporting improvements to development data systems. This support is critical to ensure RAI's donors, volunteers, and supporters are tracked appropriately and communicated with a cohesive cultivation approach.

Major Responsibilities (include but are not limited to)
* Learn Salesforce, IRC's supporter relationship management system, for resource development and volunteer operations and provide regular monitoring of dashboards in order to flag data discrepancies to Dev Ops Officer
* Support across 29 RAI-US offices with data entry and data cleaning activities
* Learn RescueNet, IRC's intranet platform, and Box document storage to determine best models of information structures
* Support the RAM team by updating resources for the network on RescueNet
* Support, attend RAM's annual virtual conference (August) with development and volunteer management staff, by assisting the Dev Officer with logistics and/or session content

Learning Objectives
* Receive training on and exposure to organization's use of internal platforms managing volunteer engagement alongside supporter cultivation.
* Learn and contribute to the IRC's Intranet platform and file storage for internal resource structuring and sharing.
* Gain insight into IRC RAI-US 29 offices and contribute to national level staff support services.

Requirements
* Must be a US citizen or legal permanent resident and authorized to work in the U.S.
* Must be at least 18 years old
* Must commit to 15 hours per week for a minimum of 3 months, August - October 2024 is the preferred service term, discuss for flexibility

Demonstrated Skills & Competencies
* Demonstrated ability to promote an organizational culture that reflects IRC's core values of service, accountability, integrity, and equality. Ability to lead in a way that recognizes that IRC's work is best accomplished through the true collaboration of individuals from many cultures with a great variety of skills and perspectives.
* Digitally savvy and innovative problem-solver with capacity to work independently.
* Data analysis or research experience preferred.
* Fluent in English, both spoken and written. Creative and compassionate communicator.
* Attention to detail and accuracy.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook); ability to use the internet and other digital tools for outreach and engagement communication.

This position is fully remote with a flexible schedule. It entails learning and navigating dense databases and platforms to structure and support clean development data that accurately represents RAI development activities. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about data, Salesforce, and staff support services. Successful interns are able to prioritize time and work independently on detail-oriented activities initiating proactive communication with updates and questions.

Working Environment
* Fully remote, intern must use their own laptop/equipment
* Intern must have a workspace they can effectively complete their service from during regularly scheduled work hours (any time zone in the U.S.)
* All positions are contingent upon clearing a background check vetting process at no cost to the applicant

Compensation
This is an unpaid internship. IRC encourages students to explore academic credit through an independent study or funding that may be available through university/program. Internships will have a learning agenda and is oriented to provide organizational exposure and professional development.
