  • Assignment:
    Assist with leading an adapted fitness program meeting Monday and Wednesday from 3:15 pm - 6:00 pm in July 2024.

    Wages:
    $25-30/hour (depending on qualifications)

    Location:
    Minnetonka High School

    Primary Objective:
    Provide coaching and oversee volunteers for a fitness program for students with disabilities ages 15-21.

    Job Responsibilities:
    1. Create exercise programs and institute them. Implement safety protocols in a weight room.
    2. Provide high-quality instruction in an adapted fitness program.
    3. Guide participants in learning physical awareness and body mechanics while teaching a full-body workout. Help students build strength, endurance, balance and mobility. Support building social skills and independence in a weight room setting.
    4. Support volunteers in building relationships with participants, providing positive behavior supports and implementing exercise programs.
    5. Maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.

    Job Qualifications:
    1. Experience with strength and conditioning best practices
    2. CPR and First Aid Certified.
    3. Positive, enthusiastic, respectful attitude
    4. Effective communication with volunteers, parents and participants
    5. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality
    6. Physical education, special education or exercise science/kinesiology degree preferred.
