We are looking for a full stack developer to help us develop the future of quantum information technologies. Scientists and engineers at HRL use our quantum software development kit everyday to better operate, understand, and advance our devices. As a full stack developer you will be responsible for building tools for displaying and manipulating scientific data.

As a developer on the Internal Tools team you will be an integral part of the Quantum Research Effort at HRL. You will write Python tooling to aid scientists and engineers in storing/accessing their data. You will contribute to features on our in-house set of web-app tools (the software stack for our web-app tooling is Python/TypeScript (FastAPI/) on top of Microsoft SQL Server and Elasticsearch backends). You will develop dashboards and SQL queries to display scientific results. You will regularly work closely with internal customers to define their needs and plan solutions that address those needs.

5+ years relevant software engineering experience.

Experience with JavaScript and Python

Experience with front-end frameworks such as , , or

Experience building APIs with frameworks such as FastAPI

Experience writing SQL queries

Basic familiarity with statistics and data science

Solid understanding of core computer science fundamentals including data structures, algorithms, and computer architectures.

U.S. citizenship

Active security clearance or ability to obtain one

The base salary range for this full-time position is $120,715 - $150,895 + bonus + benefits.
