The Advanced Equipment Systems Division (AES) is a focused group within the larger Air Liquide Electronics (ALE) organization that specializes in providing chemical and specialty gas management equipment solutions. Team members are chemical and mechanical engineers, electrical and controls engineers, programmers, manufacturing technicians and field service engineers. The core expertise of this team includes everything related to the delivery of process molecules: equipment design, material compatibility, safety requirements, component selection, controls design and integration, flow and pressure optimization, installation and start-up, and turnkey project management.

How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

The Controls Engineer will create software and controls systems for chemical dispense systems and blending equipment. The successful candidate will work closely with engineers and other professionals within the AES Project Engineering group to create and improve manufacturing systems and processes and develop software solutions for a wide variety of equipment.

  • Works in a team to help design and develop and/or customize software for electro-mechanical control systems used in chemical dispense, blending, and distribution systems.

  • Specifies and sources components and equipment required for product and project execution including components, materials, chemicals and test fixtures as needed.

  • Develops and maintains documents as required including bills of material, process flow diagrams, schematics, functional specifications, operational procedures, test procedures and other documents as required on projects

  • Works with all disciplines on project teams to meet schedules and project deliverables; includes participation in design and safety reviews, status updates and process documentation as needed.

  • Works with manufacturing and supply management teams in a support role to develop methods, standards, requirements and procedures consistent with project goals for manufacturing quality and project costs

  • Interfaces with production employees to assure high quality manufacturing and "Best Practices" on the shop floor

  • Bachelor's degree in Software, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science.

  • 5+ years experience with PLC programming (Allen Bradley, GE/Emerson, etc) including a strong understanding of ladder logic.

  • HMI programming GE/Emerson Proficy ME

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Microsoft and Google applications.

  • Modbus and Ethernet Communications Experience

  • Experience with scripting languages such as visual basic, or C/C++.

  • Experience developing control systems for electro-mechanical systems.

  • Ability to read and edit P&IDs, schematics and other product documentation.

  • Advanced knowledge of computers, software and electronics.

The Salary rate range for this position in Minnesota is $115,000.00 to $120,000.00
