Description

This position is a full-time faculty position in Dunwoody's Electronics Engineering Technology program. Faculty initiate the teaching and learning process with a focus on continuous improvement. The goal is to create an environment in which students can accomplish the learning objectives of the course of instruction.

SPECIFIC POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Facilitates learning activities so that students learn the principles, theory, skills, and work ethic necessary to become proficient for entry level positions
  • Creates a positive learning environment
  • Monitors, assesses and advises learner on technical and academic progress and performance
  • Uses current academic and industry practices in assigned courses of instruction
  • Develops and upgrades lesson material, training aids and maintains equipment within assigned course of instruction
  • Assists in the recruitment and placement of learners
  • Recommends equipment purchases for labs/classrooms
  • As a part of a team, designs and develops new curriculum within assigned program.
  • Provides support, coaching, and guidance to students
  • Participates in industry and/or professional organizations in order to maintain and enhance program health and academic integrity
  • Other duties as assigned

Essential Job Functions:

  • Ability to work 40 hours per week.
  • Excellent computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and/or Access.
  • Ability to learn new computer programs and database management systems and demonstrate proficiency given adequate training.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including ability to communicate effectively with students, faculty, staff, potential employers and/or other external constituents.
  • Ability to communicate difficult messages in a professional manner.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and to meet frequently occurring deadlines.
  • Must be goal and team oriented to build positive working relationships, and conduct business with attention to ethical considerations, and/or school/accreditation guidelines.
  • Ability to speak publicly and present information and training material in a cohesive, organized manner.
  • Ability to coach students in job search strategies including resume preparation and interviewing skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality as required by FERPA regulations.
  • Ability to work with and communicate effectively with people from all backgrounds and at all levels.
  • Must have strong organizational skills, exceptional networking skills, and consistently displays the highest levels of integrity.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including select evenings and weekends to meet college business needs.
  • Must be professional in all aspects of the position including appearance, demeanor, and attitude.
  • To perform the job successfully, must have adequate knowledge of and willingness to use specialized software such as PowerCAMPUS, Great Plains, Adobe Products, SolidWorks, PowerFAIDS, Canvas, ticketing systems and/or other databases/electronic aids, in order to be as self-sufficient as possible in day-to-day operations. Use and maintain shared network folders to greatly limit reliance on personally stored items and documents.

Qualifications

Candidate must meet one of the following criteria:

  • Faculty teaching in all associate's and/or certificate manufacturing programs will have one of the following qualifications:
  • An associate's degree in the subject they will be teaching

OR

  • Specialized certification or advanced industry certification(s)* and qualifying industry experience*

*Examples of advanced certification include: AWS CWI/CWE, CSWP, FANUC, NIMS, PMMI Mechatronics, etc.

**Examples of qualifying industry experience include recent and relevant work history in the industry or specific industry experience in a specialized subset of the discipline
