Managing Director - Reinsurance Analytics (Strategy and Program Leadership)

Based in Bloomington, MN; Chicago, IL , New York, NY, or London and reporting to the Global Chief Operating Officer for Reinsurance Analytics, the role is for an individual with reinsurance analytics background with experience in developing strategy and leading complex projects. With an opportunity to work on transformative projects in the global reinsurance space, the successful candidate will help drive our strategy to optimize outcomes for clients and colleagues.

What the day will look like

  • Analytics strategy: Help lead the execution of our global analytics strategy by driving large-scale analytics projects. This requires close coordination with several teams such as Broking, Analytics, IT, Finance and Operations.

  • Reinsurance expertise: Apply knowledge of the reinsurance industry to guide strategy and decision-making. Stay abreast of industry trends and developments to inform strategy. Engage with clients and markets to ensure our solutions differentiate and provide exceptional value
  • Programme Management: Working closely with our product managers, oversee the production and development lifecycle of several of our analytics products, ensuring they meet market demands and client expectations.
  • Data strategy: Play a pivotal role in shaping and implementing the global data strategy within the analytics function. Collaborate with analytics teams to optimize data usage and drive data-driven decision-making across global projects.
  • Investment strategy: Drive the development of investment cases to expand and enhance our analytics strategy
  • Teamwork: Motivate multi-disciplinary teams, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment. Ensure team members are clear on their roles, responsibilities, and objectives.
  • Collaboration: Embrace Aon United by collaborating with colleagues outside of the reinsurance group where appropriate.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

The role is for an individual with a strong analytics and project management background.

  • 15+ years of experience in an analytics-centric environment
  • Experience of applying analytics to solve reinsurance industry-specific challenges (such as risk modelling, climate change, portfolio optimization)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with a capability to work flexibly across different time zones.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $160K to $230K annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.

This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon's annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus, in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
