Job Description

Ryan has a career opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join the executive team as the Chief Investment Officer! This individual is responsible for providing leadership and strategic direction to the company as it relates to real estate development, capital markets, and portfolio/asset management.

Some things you can expect to do:

  • Form and execute the company's capital strategy with a focus on overseeing and expanding sources of debt and equity capital while building relationships with joint venture partners, investors, family offices, direct institutional and sovereign wealth funds, and financial institutions
  • Determine appropriate development and capital strategies for each sector and region while considering risk tolerance, market trends, long-term growth objectives, and capital constraints
  • Identify, evaluate, and negotiate real estate investment opportunities, including acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures, and development projects
  • Manage debt portfolio to understand risk, minimize costs and recourse, adhere to covenants, and manage high net worth funds.
  • Ensure assets are performing in accordance with established targets and returns are optimized for Ryan and its partners
  • Identify emerging trends, potential risks, and opportunities for investment diversification and expansion into new markets
  • Implement risk management strategies to safeguard the company's investments and assets against market fluctuations
  • Oversee the preparation and presentation of investment performance reports, forecasts, and presentations
  • Promote a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement

To be successful in this role, a bachelor's degree in finance, real estate, economics, business, or related field is required. You must have at least 15 years of progressive experience in real estate investment management, including a proven track record of leading successful investment strategies for a multibillion-dollar real estate portfolio.

You will really stand out if you have:

  • Advanced degree (i.e., MBA or MSF)
  • In-depth knowledge of national real estate markets including industrial, multifamily, senior living, healthcare, office, retail, net leased, and mixed-use properties
