Trimble loves UX/UI and our teams are growing! Trimble is looking for a Senior User Experience Designer to lead user research, strategy, information architecture and design for the user experience of Trimble's Transportation division. This is an exceptional opportunity to work with both cross-platform and on-site solutions while bridging the gap between positioning hardware and software.

Your work will have a great impact on optimizing the movement of freight by providing shippers and carriers with the mobility, enterprise and visibility software tools they need to run their businesses more efficiently.

What You Will Do

We are looking for a Senior User Experience Designer to lead user research and design, using human-centered design processes within the Transportation Mobility division. Someone that is excited to do user research on-site and use their findings to design amazing experiences. Someone that likes mentoring and sharing their knowledge with others. In this role you will be collaborating with the product, engineering and UX/UI teams to materialize concepts for multiple product lines and execute exceptional user experiences. You will have the opportunity to gain knowledge and work on multiple platforms: desktop, web and mobile. To help you Trimble has an established design system for web and mobile which you will use and contribute to.

You will research key personas, professional workflows, tasks, goals, pain points and create solutions that transform the work of Transportation professionals. Key duties include the following:

  • Work with PM and other stakeholders to identify UX objectives, including UX research and design execution.

  • Define user research plans, and lead all aspects of the research.

  • Work with PM and marketing to recruit end users and execute the research plan.

  • Define usability testing plans, including remote and on-site studies.

  • Create user personas, customer journeys and task workflows.

  • Utilize an existing design system to align the look and feel of the contributing solutions.

  • Design workflows that optimize the usability of the entire workflow.

  • Usability tests design prototypes.

  • Create low and high-fidelity designs.

  • Support implementation of high-fidelity design by development teams.

  • Collaborate with other UX/UI designers to gather feedback and share your knowledge.

What Skills And Experience You Should Bring

  • Minimum 4 years experience in the User Experience Design field.

  • Able to demonstrate an entire UX design process.

  • Experience conducting research and leveraging data to inform design strategy and direction.

  • Passion and deep experience in designing for professional users, an understanding of workflow analysis, and customer journey analysis.

  • Solid background in human-centered design and expertise with user experience design process tools and best practices.

  • Comfortable working with global cross-functional teams and managing stakeholders.

  • Willingness and interest in working on a team and obtaining design feedback from other UX/UI Designers.

  • Bachelor's degree in related field such as user experience design, human-computer interaction, interaction design (or) related work experience.

  • Solid experience with Figma and/or other design software.

  • Is a problem solver who enjoys working on a variety of challenges and who can stay self-managed under deadlines.

  • Interest or experience in the Transportation domain.

  • Collaborative in spirit and open to iterations and feedback.

  • Team-oriented; able to work well with others.

  • Strong advocate and voice for the user.

  • Curious about the team, colleagues and user perspectives.

  • A strong, persuasive communicator.

  • Someone that embraces transparency.

  • A servant leader willing to take responsibility and initiative.

  • Experience and willingness to mentor more junior UX designers and team members.
