Analyst, Health Data, Sr. - St. Paul, MN

Position description

StayWell Health Management, a division of MediMedia USA, is seeking StayWell Health Management needs a Senior Health Information Analyst's to join our passionate and dedicated team! The Senior Health Data Analyst performs analytic and reporting functions to meet the needs of internal and external customers. The successful candidate will work with cross-functional teams to develop requirements and specifications for analytic solutions and processes, develop and document SAS and SQL scripts and macros as needed to complete analysis, and create written report summarizing methods and results.

Primary responsibilities

  • Development of analysis plans for assigned projects, documentation of analytic methods and processes, and creation of reports outlining methods and findings.
  • Working with database developers and administrators to define and maintain databases, data marts, and other data architecture that is necessary to support the analytics function.
  • Recommending appropriate system changes to update and enhance the current data extraction, collection, and reporting processes.
  • Implementation and maintenance of standard code sets and algorithms required to support operational, analytic, and reporting activities.
  • Assisting in the evaluation and implementation of tools or methods for disease identification, risk stratification, and predictive modeling.
  • Creation of custom reports derived from client claims and eligibility data, internal operational data, and program outcomes data to support sales and account management.
  • Evaluation of medical savings and ROI achieved by lifestyle and chronic condition management programs including data preparation and validation, multivariate regression analysis, and creation of reports for internal and external customers.
  • Development of timely and accurate tools and processes for monitoring of contractual performance guarantees, and the creation and maintenance of book of business norms to support reporting and contract negotiations.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree and 3+ years experience in health care analytics and business intelligence
  • Experience with data preparation of large health care data sets such as medical claims, pharmacy claims, and eligibility files.
  • Understanding of the structure of datasets and the ability to merge data from multiple relational databases and/or record types. Familiarity with standard health care code schemas for transactional data such as ICD9/10, CPT-4, HCPCS, UB-04, NDC, etc.
  • Experience working with HEDIS specifications
  • Proficiency in MS-SQl (T-SQL), and SAS, including SAS/Base, SAS/Stat, SAS/Graps, and SAS programming and macros 
  • Experience in SAS statistical computing and in particular with statistical modeling and analysis such as multivariate regression model, logistic regression, etc.
  • Previous experience in the disease management or wellness industries a plus.
  • The candidate must report to work in the St. Paul office.
