Company Overview

EPPA – A Proud Tradition

The Emergency Physicians Professional Association (EPPA) was founded in 1969 and has enjoyed one of the most successful private emergency medicine practices in the United States. As a democratic partnership with shareholder status granted within a year for new physicians, EPPA is owned and governed by its participating physicians. We take pride in our culture of mutual respect and camaraderie. Our culture is the secret behind EPPA's attraction and successful tradition.

Over 130 board certified/board eligible physicians provide emergency medicine staffing for 5 hospital emergency departments in the Twin Cities area as well as the Urgency Room in Woodbury, Eagan and Vadnais Heights. Our hospital locations are Level II or Level III Trauma Centers with primary Joint commission certified heart and stroke programs. Our hospitals maintain strong academic relationships with emergency medicine residency programs at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, and Regions Hospital in St. Paul, both Level I Trauma Centers.

Each hospital site has a responsible EPPA Medical Director who works closely with hospital administration and provides oversight for scheduling, patient flow and facility design, medical quality, risk management, and patient concerns. Our reputation for providing state of the art emergency services has resulted in some EPPA physicians serving as Chief of Staff at their respective hospitals.
