Company Overview
Northern Star Council, headquartered in the Twin Cities of Minneapolis/St. Paul, supports nearly 20,000 volunteers who develop and enrich the lives of over 40,000 boys, young men, and young women annually, ages 6 through 20, in 25 counties across central Minnesota and western Wisconsin. Through the Scouting program, youth learn and implement leadership skills as well as outdoors skills.  Over 30,000 additional youth participate annually in non-traditional programs. More than 1,100 community organizations, representing educational, religious, non-profit, civic, and business organizations join in partnership with Northern Star Council by chartering Scouting units (packs, troops, teams, crews, posts and groups).

Northern Star Council is among the three largest Scout councils in the United States and is known for its innovative programs.  The council is the result of the July 1, 2005 merger of the former Viking (Minneapolis) and Indianhead (St. Paul) Councils. "Northern Star" is descriptive of our part of the country and relates to our mission of providing direction/guidance to young people.

Mission To prepare youth people to be leaders and individuals of strong character by helping them discover the principles of Scouting.

Vision Northern Star Council is  positive influence in the lives of 100% of the youth in the communities we serve.
