Our employee-owned and integrated team of multi-discipline engineering and design professionals is looking for a Project Manager / Professional Electrical Engineer who has extensive experience managing a portfolio of various heavy industrial projects and thorough knowledge of electrical design standards and requirements in relation to heavy industrial operations and processes.
 
As a member of our team, we will leverage your project management talents to deliver full-service, multi-discipline solutions for heavy industrial sector challenges, with an emphasis on mining operations. As a project manager, you would lead project teams for a variety of projects ranging from facility design to demolition and from balance of plant to material handling, and you would be responsible for all technical, quality, and financial aspects of a project from conception through construction.
 
In addition to project management, you would assist with market development efforts by collaborating with the technical group managers, market managers, and division leadership to further advance our services by contributing to the development of business plans, maintaining client relations, developing proposals, and participating in client presentations. 
 
Furthermore, as a professional electrical engineer, you will have the opportunity to showcase your technical expertise by scoping project requirements, leading design efforts, developing detailed drawings, and drafting technical specifications and reports. You will also have the opportunity to share your knowledge and professional experiences by mentoring and developing less experienced team members.
 
For this opportunity we are seeking an experienced professional who resides within a regular commuting distance of one of our offices and who has the ability to travel to assigned client / project locations as requested. Hybrid work arrangements will be considered for those who have demonstrated an ability to work successfully with a geographically dispersed team by displaying self-motivation, initiative, teamwork, and strong communication skills.

Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or electrical engineering technology.
    • Professional Engineer with ten or more years of progressive technical design experience with a primary emphasis on industrial facility / site power distribution and control systems.
    • Prior experience designing systems for mining or heavy industrial facilities.
    • Prior experience managing multi-discipline projects with service fees in excess of $300,000.00 per year.
    • Previous experience coordinating design standards and requirements with other disciplines, including Architecture, Civil, Mechanical, and Structural.
    • Previous experience conducting construction administration responsibilities including observation and inspection.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to apply effective verbal and written communication skills when writing specifications, preparing technical reports, contributing to or leading project team discussions, and participating client consultations and interviews.
    • Ability to travel as requested for project assignments (up to 10%); Occasional overnight travel may be required.
    • Must possess a valid Driver’s License and maintain a driving record that is in compliance with company requirements. 

Advantageous Qualifications

    • Professional registration in multiple states.
    • Previous experience responding to Requests for Proposals, including estimating electrical design fees.
    • Desire or demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and develop less experienced professionals on technical design standards.
    • Previous design experience for industrial facility underground/overhead medium voltage site power distribution systems.
    • Previous design experience with motor installation, startup, and analysis.
    • Previous design experience with Piping and Instrument Diagrams, Loop Sheets, and instrumentation and control panel specification, layout, startup and commissioning.
    • Previous experience with configuration and/or programming of Programmable Logic Controllers, VFDs, and Instrumentation.
    • Previous design experience with medium voltage switchgear relay setup, configuration, and uploading.
    • Previous experience troubleshooting design, installation, and operating electrical equipment deficiencies and power quality issues and formulating corrective measures.
    • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, and Revit drawing software.
    • Working knowledge of SKM Power Tools analysis software.
