Responsibilities

Draper is seeking a motivated laboratory researcher to contribute to the design and execution of biological and analytical studies to support R&D programs across a spectrum of government and commercial sponsors. We are developing novel technologies at the interface between biology, chemistry, and engineering, with a particular emphasis on leveraging our groundbreaking advances in microfluidic devices and systems. This opportunity will emphasize skills and experience with protein expression and purification, as well as broader capabilities in molecular biology. Qualifications

Education

    BS in a biology discipline, chemistry/biochemistry or biomedical engineering, with 1-3 years relevant laboratory experience

Experience

  • Experience with a variety of molecular biology techniques, including cloning, PCR, bacterial culture, transformation, and Sanger sequencing, is required
  • Experience with recombinant protein expression and purification is highly desired
  • Experience with protein analysis techniques, including SDS-PAGE, Western Blot, and various quantification methods, is highly desired
  • Ability to troubleshoot experimental issues, summarize data, interpret results, and format data for reporting via presentation or publication
  • Laboratory organizational skills and strong communication skills are required.

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance. The primary requirement for a security clearance is US citizenship.
