Job Description

Accountabilities/Duties:

  • Delivers perioperative care to the surgical patient through the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Maintains a safe environment for the patient following AORN guidelines
  • Able to prep the patient following AORN guidelines
  • Creates and maintains a sterile field, has a good sterile conscious.
  • Provides for appropriate handling and labeling of specimen and cultures
  • Knowledge of medications and their correct administration based on age of the patient and their clinical condition.
  • Collaborates with other healthcare team members on patient care.
  • Communicates appropriately and clearly to Nurse Manager, co-workers and physicians
  • Documents accurately and completely and keeps records regarding clinical practice.
  • Works as a team to complete daily, weekly and monthly checklists


Required Qualifications:

  • Current WI RN license
  • Current BLS certification (must be through American Heart Association or American Red Cross)
  • 1+ years recent experience as OR Circulator

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BSN degree
  • ACLS certification
