About the Job

Primary Purpose of Job:
Support the conduct of the MINNE-LOVE longitudinal clinical study
Develop primary respiratory co-culture model system
Performs ordering for the lab
Trains new personnel in appropriate laboratory safety

Responsibilities:
30% With oversight from PI, consent/enroll participants in longitudinal clinical study and supervise specimen collection, tracking and processing and trains new personnel in these skills

30% With oversight from PI, develop primary respiratory co-culture model system and trains new personnel in these skills

10% Review literature relating to research projects and assist in writing publications, summary reports,
and research grants and preparing and giving oral presentations about work

10% Perform molecular analyses including (PCR, quantitative PCR, DNA extraction, molecular cloning,
CRISPR/Cas9)

10% Assists PI with IBC and IRB compliance, including training of new and existing staff

10% Performs ordering and financial duties for the lab, including P card reconciliation, PO creation, and Supplier and Vendor payments

Qualifications

All required qualifications must be documented on application materials

Required Qualifications:
Highschool diploma or equivalent
Strong organizational skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Willingness to complete required human subjects training to function as clinical research coordinator

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with a major or minor in a biomedical science (e.g Microbiology, Biochemistry, Neuroscience, etc.) plus at least one year of experience, or a combination of relevant education/experience totaling at least five years.
Experience with standard mammalian tissue culture techniques
Experience with standard molecular biology techniques e.g. PCR, quantitative PCR, DNA extraction
