This position is Monday through Thursday 9:00am-1:00pm daily. Must be able to transport meals with a clear driving record.

As a Food Transport Worker-Kitchen Helper you will assist with food preparation, clean up, and transporting food in bulk from a central kitchen for delivery to designated sites following MN State Department of Health food handling regulations. You will load and unload bulk food containers in and out of a vehicle at designated sites and upon completion, return empty food containers to the central kitchen. This position is also responsible for assisting other kitchen staff with dishwashing, sanitizing work areas, and cleaning equipment, appliances, and floors.

Job Requirements:

  • Ability to deliver food and drive in all types of weather conditions.
  • Must be able to follow proper lifting techniques.
  • Be able to work independently to a degree, follow directions, and be efficient and accurate.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with others.
  • Must be able to read and follow verbal directions.
  • Represent Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota (LSS) in a professional manner through adhering to dress code and personal hygiene practices.
  • Represent LSS as the provider of this service, engaging with diners to promote a welcoming and inviting atmosphere.
  • Must be cleared by a Bureau of Criminal Affairs (BCA) background study and have a driver's license; a Motor Vehicle Check (MVR) is required.
