JOB SUMMARY

The primary responsibilities of the Aircraft Support Technician will be to assist the Maintenance Operation by positioning aircraft to/from the gates/hangar/parking ramps. Movement of ground support equipment and checking for arriving and departing aircraft at the MSP hangar facility. The technician will also be responsible for the operation and fueling of powered ground support equipment as well as working in the tooling distribution and ACC tower for communication of aircraft moves.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Responsible for the safe and timely movement of aircraft
  • Work the ACC tower; operating the radio to communicate movement of aircraft
  • May work the tooling distribution program; manage the receiving and distribution of tools, sending tools for calibration, and creating tool kits
  • Obtain and maintain MAC area movement license
  • Assist maintenance with heat carts, ground power units, and stairs when parking and departing aircraft on hangar ramp
  • Assist maintenance with aircraft parking and movement in and out of hangar
  • Responsible for fueling ground equipment
  • Responsible for washing aircraft
  • Assist in stocking applicable supplies
  • Conduct all tasks in a safe and efficient manner complying with all local, state, and federal safety and health regulatory requirements, programmatic standards, and with any internal policies and procedures identified by Sun Country Airlines
  • Assist aircraft technicians with maintenance tasks
  • Other duties as assigned by MSP Maintenance Crew Chiefs

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be highly motivated and a self-starter
  • Excellent communication, organizational, problem solving skills
  • Work effectively with minimal supervision under stressful situations

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Aircraft ground support experience
  • Familiarity with aircraft tooling
  • Experience distribution of aircraft tooling
  • Aircraft experience civilian or military
  • VHF radio communication experience
