DescriptionVice President, Twin Cities PBS National Productions

Twin Cities PBS, one of the nation's leading public media organizations, is seeking a full time Vice President of our National Productions department to identify, develop and deliver new programs and series for national audiences. The ideal individual is an "idea person" with proven success handling a broad range of projects in varying stages of development. He/she will already be engaged at a high level of the multi-media industry, with specific experience and a track record of success in program development, fundraising, and producing or overseeing production.

MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
* Leverage strengths of the National Productions team to maximize and reach individual and organizational goals.
* Identify and develop program opportunities for national television distribution, via PBS, APT and other outlets (both noncommercial and commercial).
* Partner with independent producers and production companies to develop new program and series concepts.
* Review program concept submissions, assessing proposed projects for viability and making recommendations to senior management.
* Package and pitch program and series concepts for distribution and for funding.
* Supervise internal and external production staff to bring new content to the screen.
* Lead fundraising activity related to programs and series in development and maintaining relationships with key individuals in the funding communities that support this work (including government, foundation and corporate sources).
* Represent TPT and its National Productions group at conferences and venues where opportunities can be identified and brought onboard.

This individual will also have:
* Successful experience supervising producers and partnering with fundraisers, staff and third-party production entities.
* Exceptional communications capability: superior verbal, written and presentation skills, and the ability to successfully pitch a program to potential funders and/or distributors.
* Demonstrated drive, determination, and perseverance.
* The ability to multitask and manage numerous projects at varying stages of development.
* Focus and self-sufficiency - able to work independently but in the context of a very collegial and collaborative organization.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
* 7-10 years of experience in the development and production of television programming, with experience working at a national level
* Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in a related field required
* Established and strongly developed network of television industry connections and relationships with potential to be new outlets for TPT programming
* Proficient in Office Suite and CRM - experience with strategic marketing
* Exceptional interpersonal and relationship building skills
* Proven track record of reliability, timeliness and ability to execute within budget
* Proactive attitude with a creative and entrepreneurial spirit
* Passionate about the power of public media and nonprofits
