Taking Action: Our promise to you
You'll notice it when you walk in the door, open an account, ask a question, or approach a milestone in your life: the people at Bremer are ready, willing, and able to take action. That service has been part of our culture since our founder, Otto Bremer, opened the doors to his first bank in 1943.
Here's what our company looks like today:
Dedicated employees: Nearly 2,000.
Comprehensive services: Banking, investment, trust, and insurance.
Valued clients: Individuals and families, large and mid-size corporations, small businesses, agribusinesses, nonprofits, public and government entities.
Convenient locations: Bank at more than 100 branch offices throughout Minnesota, Wisconsin, and North Dakota.
Unique ownership: Co-owned by the Otto Bremer Foundation, a nonprofit charitable trust, and Bremer employees
A genuine commitment to our communities
Bremer is owned by both our employees and the Otto Bremer Foundation — the only business structure of its kind in the nation. Bremer fosters a culture of caring and commitment and demonstrates it through grants from the Otto Bremer Foundation, donations by local Bremer affiliates, and the volunteerism of our employees’ time and skills to nonprofit organizations and community projects.
At Bremer, customer service isn’t something we just talk about — it’s something we do for individuals, businesses, and communities. Every day.
Community Service Reinvestment Act
The Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), enacted by Congress in 1977, is intended to encourage depository institutions to help meet the credit needs of the communities in which they operate, including low- and moderate-income neighborhoods.
At Bremer, we not only follow CRA guidelines, we actively look for opportunities to assist in the economic and social development of our communities. We accomplish this in several ways:
Bremer realizes that our success is dependent upon the success of our communities. This is why we fully support the CRA.
Products and services offered through Bremer Insurance, Bremer Trust, and Invest Financial Corporation are not insured by FDIC, are not a deposit or other obligation of, or guaranteed by, the depository institution, and are subject to investment risks including possible loss of the principal amount invested.
At Bremer, we value diversity and inclusion in everything we do, from the way we relate to each other, to the way we treat and service our clients. “Diversity” describes who we are, all the differences we bring to the workplace and all the differences of our clients and potential clients. “Inclusion” calls us to action, ensuring that everyone is allowed to bring their best to the workplace to maximize productivity and make clients comfortable by valuing their unique differences. At Bremer, we believe the cultural and social diversity of our employees enriches our products and services, our interactions with clients, the communities in which we live and work, and our personal lives. We strive to treat our employees with respect, recognize them for their individuality and provide opportunity for advancement based on performance. Bremer’s Diversity and Inclusion Council, chaired by CEO Stan Dardis includes 16 members representing a variety of functions and roles across Bremer. The Council guides Bremer employees to follow its diversity philosophy, objectives and policies. The Council:
