Bertelson Total Office Solutions - Over 100 Years of Excellence! On October 1, 1906, Oscar and Arthur Bertelson, Sr. founded the Bertelson Brothers Company, a business that included printing and office supplies. Their first store was located at 215 South Fourth Street in downtown Minneapolis. The brothers then acquired the Cushman & Plummer Company, an old established stationery firm. The business grew and prospered, and in 1917 they moved to a three-story building offering supplies, printing and great customer service in a convenient setting. Upon the retirement of Oscar and Arthur, their three sons took over the business and incorporated as Bertelson Brothers, Inc. Kenneth, Richard and Arthur, Jr. Bertelson built their own building in Golden Valley in 1959. The business expanded in the 60s and 70s. In the 1980’s the third generation took over and Darrell, Jeffery and Mark Bertelson continued the tradition of excellence until 2003. In 2003 the Ownership group brought on Stephen Unruh as President of Bertelson Brothers, Inc., and in 2008 made Stephen the first non-family member Owner. Today we are known as Bertelson Total Office Solutions. Stephen Unruh is the President and CEO and has developed one of the most talented staffs of Associates in the industry. We have also developed and grown into four divisions of Bertelson Total Office Solutions. These four divisions are:
